Come with me: Seoul, Korea (#tbt version)

(You can also read this article at http://www.sophiavoon.com)

I needed this holiday. One week before the big move. One week before the new job. The only problem is, I hate travelling by myself. Which means -eating by myself, talking to myself, endless selfies (ok, maybe that’s my baseline) but the point is.. I don’t like it. Savvy?

Na’ah. Don’t give me the talk about: find your soul, lose yourself, indulge your independenceΒ sh*t. It ain’t workin.

(Disclamer: before ya’ll stone me to death, I do not have anything against travelling solo, it’s just not my thing)

*Don’t know why I have the urge to defend myself there * 😝

Anyhow (geez my brain can really type nonsense), I decided to bring my mom along and she gave me a very limited choices of destinations: no long haul flights. Her legs will get cramps, she said. And I do, have to prioritise her legs. Them precious legs! 😁 My sister decided to come along and before we knew it, Seoul happened.

Things you must have for this trip: Google translate app(if you don’t speak Korean like us), Korean subway map/app, charger converter (they have 2-head pin charger) and lots of cash. Oh yeahhhh πŸ’΅πŸ”«πŸ’°πŸ’£πŸ’Ά (not sure why are there gun and bomb) πŸ˜… But you get the gist.

My first impression: super clean city, hardworkers, have pride in what they do, infested with cute things and they have the best transport system ever! I also noticed Koreans are very much trend-followers so if orange lipstick is in, EVERYONE will wear orange lipstick. I do love orange lipstick too. Maybe not for the next 5 days I’m in Seoul πŸ˜‚

They are super creative and very artsy. I only have love for these people. Utter versatile and not afraid of being awkward. If you love these kind of fancy schmancy, please go to Ssamziegil at Insa-dong street. We spent like half Β of our day here and indulge in some unique school utensils to bring home.

Next, the girls gotta eat! Korean food is da bomb! I absolutely love it, I could eat it everyday. It’s not salty and not too sweet. Price were reasonable or cheap if you come from Europe. But if you’re spending your RM, you should stop converting and just swallow the damn food! 😭😭😭

Are you ready for the food porn? 😝

The food porn will not complete without a visit to Gwangjang market. Our first visit was a total failure as we came after it was closed. So guys, read the opening hours! We came again the following day and it was nothing short of spectacular. It has the buzz, the food tourism, culture and so much more. As my mom said: when you go to Rome, do as the Romans do (yahh, my mom can be quite deep like that 😝)

A traditional Korean Coffee place! 😻

Next, a shopping trip! We spent few hours shopping everyday. These were the only thing I researched for the trip: what beauty products to buy in Korea. Β When I googled it, there are thousands of blog posts and vlog about it already. Look how cute is @Etude House, aww! You also need to check out @innisfree, @banila co, @missha, @too cool for school and @skin food obviously.

I spent a fortune here but the hubby no see! Yayy!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

5 days here flies so fast. I got to spend time with my two bestfriends, dine sumptuous food, spend money like there’s no tomorrow and leave with a bag full of new make-ups so that I can take selfies next time, post it in FB and tag #noedit. Pfft.

Fine. Enough of my mumbo jumbo.

Your eyes need some love candy right now for dessert. So enjoy!!! 😍😍😍

Till next time! Xx
