I knew when we left November of 2016, December will come and go -too quickly and too fast than I could handle. I decided to digest and enjoyed it thoroughly via digital means which was facilitated by social media platform such as #instagram or #youtube.
Btw, before I moved on and feast your eyes with some awesome pictures, can we just take a moment to be thankful for the year of 2016? It has not been the best year for us but.. it has taught me the courage to love, to be brave in waiting and to completely surrender.
Are we there yet? Are we there yet?? Ok, fine.
So, the first thing I have lined up was a panto which we attend every Christmas, except last year. I booked our tickets early and managed to snap some seats for Robin Hood panto. It has plenty of Irish humor, which I really love. Here are some shots I manage to obtain illegally 😂
The set was beautiful and truly magical. The songs of choice were rather catchy too. It ended 2.5hours later and we strolled back home as the following day is Monday. Can’t wait to get back to work, already! 🙄
That week I put up my Christmas tree and fairy lights despite being the queen of procrastination. Not even one day, will I decline myself the true magical moments that Christmas brings me. Except, my problem was, I have a living Grinch right under my nose! He who questioned the existence of my blinking lights, my ever-growing collection of candles, even my choice of Christmas wrapping! And when I started to call him Grinch, he laughed hysterically -am not sure, either of disbelief or just pure contentment 😤😤😤
Sophie’s Rooftop Restaurant
The following weekend, we decided to go for brunch like any other girl in the town would 😆 and decided to re-visit Sophie’s, which again guys, sorry to disappoint, is not mine.
I ordered French toast with berries, dusts with sugar flakes, glazed with caramelised honey -that’s the type of sh** Masterchef tells you. But really, it is just toasts with some sour fruits on top. You swallow it and it’s gone.
Brunch = €15 + 5mins eating time + 55mins chatting time. And then you go home and you need to eat rice 😂
That night I got an epiphany to enter the Christmas Door competition organised by the hospital. After googling a hefty amount of pictures, I decided to just go with whatever I have in my craft box. And the result.. was this:
We didn’t win the whole vote thingy on facebook but we did achieve our goal of 100 likes 🤗 It’s not necessarily a masterpiece but #tbh, we are the only doctors who care enough to decorate our door and contribute to the Christmas spirit? Talk to the hand! 😎
That weekend, we had our department Christmas party.
On the last week leading to Christmas, everybody is pumped literally with too many doses of chocolates. Everybody gets away with minimal productivity while Christmas songs were playing on a loop.
On Friday, 23rd Dec, I dashed home early as I was having guests over for a #pyjamachristmasparty #ineedtohavethecoolestpartyintown 🤓 and #instagramworthyteaparty #imhalfchineseicandothis #fridaydontcare
One for the night. Jingle bell!!
Jokes aside, it was a very enjoyable 24 hours with bunch of nerds! We ate, slept and played way too much! I am proud to host such a memorable night. Thank you for coming my loves!!
As the year 2017 is approaching, I have come to term that Trump will be a part of my life and very hopeful that the Grinch will give me my nice hubby back. Although the new year will bring more uncertainty however, great things never came from comfort zone. Im not expecting myself to achieve big goals but instead, small ones with the biggest heart.
I’m hoping this New Year will bring you joy!! God bless!! 😘
