Nasi Lemak is one of Malaysian traditional food. Nasi translates into rice and Lemak just means fat -literally. So it is no surprise that this food is rather ‘fatty’ as it is cooked and soaked in coconut cream.
The other condiments would include crispy anchovies, crunchy nuts, thin sliced cucumber, egg and meat (chicken, beef, lamb).
The star of the dish will have to be the sambal. Sambal is basically a paste made of blended chillies (both dry + fresh) , onions, lemon grass and sautéed slowly under slow heat until all the goodness resurfaced into a thin spread of oily yummy flavourful paste.
I made this today and guess who had 3 helpings?
